Requirements:

Attendance-Because the class meets only once a week, regular attendance is essential. If you form an ensemble during the guitar workshop hour, an effective ensemble experience is created when you maintain continuity in attendance and participation.

Performance requirement- During the semester there will be four individual performance evaluations plus a final performance. You will be responsible for those by playing either for me or for the class.

Homework-You are expected to keep up with all exercises and be working on a piece or group of pieces throughout the semester.  Your practice time should be at least thirty minutes a day. If you participate in an ensemble, the practice requirements are additional.

Guitar Workshop - Music 11   During the second hour (2:00-3:30 PM) we will work on solo or group ensemble literature and at the end of the period perform together or for each other. The repertoire can be of the student’s choice or will be what is currently being worked on during first hour. The structure of the class will be focused around a group ensemble and later solo performances will occur. Some ensembles or solo performers can meet with each other during the first hour and perform during the second.

Grading-Grades will be based on effort, progress, attendance and participation.  Because of the various levels of development students enter the course with, how much progress each person accomplishes and how much work is demonstrated will be the biggest factor in grading.
