The pale pink bill with dark tip, pink feet, and bluish eyering are consistent with immature. This Red-footed Booby was originally photographed on the outer jetty 29 October 2017 by Josiah Clark [photo]. Today it was refound by Ryan Terrill on the disconnected inner breakwater. Ryan's excellent images are on Facebook. Previous specimen records from California refer to the small dark race S. s. websteri of the Eastern tropical pacific.
