Greetings

I definitely lean towards BTGreen Warbler here. The unstreaked back favors BTGreen (there is a bit of darker back smudging on the photos, but this is not unusual in BTGreens from my Chicago experience). Also, the streaking through the malar area on down the flanks appears within range for BTGreen. The yellow through the face but not on chest/belly is good for BTGreen. I think that the combination of a unstreaked green back, no black on central throat, and no yellow on chest would be most unusual for a Townsend's X Hermit.

On the quiz bird, no yellow wash is visible near the vent, but this could be due to photo overexposure. The yellow wash on the vent is a much touted ID mark for BTGreen Warbler. In Chicago, however, I have closely observed several BTGreens where the yellow vent is just not visible in the field.

I do have some reservations about the quiz bird. One photo really gives a nice view of the face pattern. In this view, the supecilium connects broadly to the yellow behind the auriculars. Per my recollection, this is not typical for BTGreen. Perhaps it is due the birds twisted position when the photo was taken. Also, the auriculars appear a bit dark for BTGreen Warbler in that photo, but more normal in other photos.

Cheers
