My first thought was Black-throated Green Warbler, with which I have no experience whatsoever. I think that I see a slight hint of yellow in the vent region in the overexposed shot of the underparts, but even if this area is yellowish, the illustration "d" on page 71 of Dunn & Garrett seems to show this hint of yellow on the Hermit/Townsend's hybrid also. Is it possible that that painting was based on this mystery warbler? Also in the shot of the back and in the partially hidden bird, there appears to be a slight hint of streaking in the back. This would eliminate Black-throated Green (I think!). This bird is certainly not a pure Townsend's, so my vote is for Townsend's/Hermit hybrid.
