This course is an exploration of basic concepts and techniques of representational drawing. Students will develop a practical understanding of principles and techniques of expressive drawing from observation. They will be exposed to the traditions of two-dimensional representation in a variety of drawing media through lectures, historical examples, demonstrations, and critiques.
The students will explore drawing through the elements of composition, line, plane, shape, form, proportions, value, and basic perspective. Drawing problems will be structured to guide the student and the instructor will assist in this experience through individual attention.
