Mr. Kennedy has been teaching at CCSF since 2007. He served the college as a site supervisor from 2005 to 2016.
He believes that community is central to learning. For that reason, he fosters a supportive learning community in all his classes. Through participation in this classroom community, students develop skills that allow them fuller community participation at school, at work, in their neighborhoods, and in the Bay Area.
Mr. Kennedy is on the Executive Council of the college's Academic Senate. Within the ESL Department, he serves on the Non-Credit Curriculum and the ESLetter Committees. He has also served on the ESL Technology Committee. He has been site supervisor of the college's Castro, Southeast, and Ocean Campuses.
He is a member of TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), CATESOL (California TESOL), CCAE (California Council for Adult Education), and COABE (Commission for Adult Basic Education). He is active in TESOL's ILGBTF (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Friends) Forum.
In his free time, Mr. Kennedy likes to ride his bicycle, swim, sing, and dance.
