Practice Problem 3: Employee Name Viewer, due Thursday, 9/7
Objective: To write a simple program in VB .NET that accesses a database
Write a program with a GUI like shown here:
Here are some more details and rules:
- This program can be done with any version of VB .NET. If you're using VB .NET 2005, you can keep or
delete the Binding Navigator toolbar - it's up to you. But you do need to have the three buttons shown
above, even though they're redundant with that toolbar.
- Your program should automatically display data from the Employee table of the Novelty database you
created for Practice Problem 2.
- As the GUI suggests, the first and last name for a record are shown, and clicking "Previous" or
"Next" displays the previous or next record. Clicking "Save" saves any changes that have been made.
- To test that your program is saving changes correctly, exit the program and run it again; your
changes from the last run should still be visible.
- When turning in your homework, zip up your project directory or simply turn in the code for the form
in text format. Please e-mail it to cpersiko@ccsf.edu
