Two similar species of Anthopleura are possible here: Starburst Anenome (A. sola) or Aggregating Anenome (A. elegantissima). In fact they were considered to be the same species until the Starburst Anenome was described as a separate species in the year 2000. Starburst grows alone while Aggregating grows in colonies. The top individual was in a colony but the bottom one was by itself in a nearby pool. It could be either species.
