Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita fitzroyi) 3 August 2014. Jabiru, NT, Australia

Taking a shower in a lawn sprinkler. These large noisy parrots were quite common in settled wooded areas. Birds in NT are the race C. g. fitzroyi sometimes called Matthews Cockatoo. It lacks the yellow wash on the cheeks of the nominate subspecies which occurs in Eastern Australia.
