Chilean Flicker (Colaptes pitius)
This flicker is confined to Chile and adjacent SW Argentina. This is an adult female. Males are similar, but have a mottled dark mustache. Immatures have a darker crown. This is a rather peculiar flicker having pale eyes and is one of only two species in which the males lack red on their heads. The other is the somewhat similar Fernandina's Flicker of Cuba.
