This is a scarce migrant in California, but this has been a good year for them with multiple sightings in San Mateo County this Fall. They can be confused with other species especially Brewer's Sparrow and Chipping Sparrow. Note the pale lores and unstreaked gray nape. Canon SX60 HS.
