Found 23 January 2017 by Paul Donahue. Grazing at NW corner of Sharp Park Golf Course. First documented San Mateo County record. A previous 13 April 1960 report from Pescadero (AFN 14:417) has not been reviewed.

A small goose; smaller than adjacent Canada Geese. Head and back of neck white. Eye black. Chin, throat and foreneck black. Bill stubby and pink with black nail. Lower mandible black. Body gray; mantle feathers scalloped with gray centers, black subterminal and white terminal fringes on each feather. Tertials black with white fringes. Underparts gray with bold black barring on sides, flanks and belly. Tail all white. Feet and legs bright yellow.
