Take State Route 12/29 to Napa, then a left on 12/121 to Sonoma. Turn left on Cuttings Wharf Road. It will turn 90 degrees right naturally and branch. Take the right fork, that will be Las Amigas Road, There will be an intersection, turn left staying on Las Amigas Road (going straight through will be Bay View Avenue). You will come to another intersection, turn right on to Las Amigas Road (going straight will be Milton Road). Take a left on Buchli Station Road. Drive to the end. The road usually has lot of potholes. Go over the railroad tracks and park. You will see a kiosk to sign in. Its the Huichica Creek Unit of the Napa-Sonoma Marshes Wildlife Area(which interestingly enough from what I've been told means Burrowing Owl in Indian. Yes there were burrowing owls, but no longer.) During breeding season snowy plovers are seen off of the levees as you walk south, then west. A winter sighting is great! Look for blue-winged teal and yellow-headed blackbird (there is a freshwater pond way to the west along the rail road track off of Bentley Wharf Road (closer this way, but not allowed by F&G, however it is okay to walk the rail road track from Buchli Station) during breeding season too.
