Buff-barred Warbler (Phylloscopus pulcher kangrae) 21 February 2016. Vinayak, Nainital County, Uttarakhand, IN
These jumpy little birds were a challenge to photograph and even more of a challenge to identify. Fairly common in the highlands, the buff wing-bars help identify this otherwise cryptic species. Two subspecies are recognized. This is presumably the paler P. p. kangrae found in the NW Himalayas. Rasmussen calls this bird "Orange-barred Leaf-warbler." Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
