Greater Yellowlegs (Tringa melanoleuca)
The heavily streaked breast and black wing patches indicate breeding (Definitive Alternate) plumage. The name "melanoleuca" means "black white." This species prefers inhospitable, mosquito-ridden muskegs for breeding. A long distance migrant, some individuals winter as far south as Tierra del Fuego. Digiscoped with Panasonic DMC-LX5 | Nikon FS 3 | 30XWA | hand-held, no
adapter.
