Little Ringed Plover (Charadrius dubius curonicus)
A pair was exhibiting song flight and territorial displays suggesting they may nest in the area. I believe this is a male characterized by its solid black cheeks. Females are similar but have their cheeks mixed with brown. This is the widespread highly migratory Palearctic race C. d. curonicus. Two other races are resident in Southern and Southeastern Asia. Unlike this migratory race which has a distinct basic (Winter) plumage, the two non-migratory subspecies remain in breeding plumage year round. Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
