This is a female, lacking the large antlers of the bulls. Sometimes called the "Alaska Moose" or "Giant Moose" this is North America's largest Moose subspecies. In British English they go by the name "Elk" but in the United States the name Elk applies to a completely different deer (Cervus canadensis). Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
