Surf Cinclodes (Cinclodes taczanowskii)
The name Cinclodes suggests a similarity to dippers (genus Cinclus) but these active ground-dwelling birds remind me more of pipits or thrushes. They are actually classified with the Ovenbirds (Furnariidae). They nest in algae covered rock crevices in the surf zone. This Peruvian endemic has been called the most maritime of all passerine birds. Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
