Two birds originally reported as Pacific Golden-Plover on 7 April were still present today. The lower bird is clearly a Pacific Golden-Plover (P. fulva) but the upper/middle bird bears some resemblance to an American Golden-Plover (P. dominica). In particular the white chest patch appears to stop rather than continue down the sides. However, the bird responded to a recording of Pacific Golden-Plover while ignoring recordings of American Golden-Plover. It also called a few times giving Pacific Golden-Plover vocalizations. Special thanks to Steve Tucker for locating the birds. Digiscoped with Panasonic DMC-LZ5 | Nikon FieldScope 3 | 30X WA | hand-held (no adapter) |
