Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis calurus)
This species is highly variable. The top individual is an adult of the Western subspecies B. j. calurus characterized by its dark throat and barred belly band. It is one of the darker morphs often referred to as "rufous-morph" showing dark rufous breast. The bottom bird is a light morph and the two appeared to be a mated pair perched on the same pole.
