Rock Wren (Salpinctes obsoletus obsoletus)

This is one of three spiffy looking juvenile birds still being fed by two rather ragged looking adults. This is a very local breeder here with prior confirmed nesting in May and June of 1994 (BB Atlas data). However this site has only been readily accessible to the public since 2014. The species is known to be multi-brooded, so it is possible these later offspring may be from a second brood. This is the only member of the genus Salpinctes believed to be basal to the other wrens. Digiscoped with Panasonic DMC-LX5 | Nikon FieldScope 3 | 30X WA | hand-held (no adapter).
