Bat-eared Fox (Otocyon megalotis virgatus) - 10 July 2013. Ndutu Safari Lodge, Arusha Region, Tanzania.

Their large ears help to locate insects, especially harvester termites (Hodotermes mossambicus) which are a major portion of their diet. Their small teeth are also adaptated for feeding on termites. There are two separate populations, one in Southern Africa and one in East Africa. This is the East African O. m. virgatus.
