Brown Snake-Eagle (Circaetus cinereus) - 4 July 2013. Tarangire National Park, Manyara Region, Tanzania.

The yellow eyes, large owl-like head, and upright posture help identify this species. I believe this is an adult. Immatures usually have white markings on the belly. Prey is said to include venomous snakes. IOC and African Bird Club checklists leave out the hyphen. Formerly called the Brown Harrier Eagle.
