Kenyan Rock Agama (Agama lionotus lionotus) - 9 July 2013. Olduvai Gorge Site Museum, Arusha Region, Tanzania.

Males get bright orange heads and blue bodies during breeding season. At other seasons the male is plain brown. This species has been split from the Common Agama aka Red-headed Rock Agama and Rainbow Agama (Agama agama). In fact all former races of Common Agama have been elevated to full species. This nominate race is distinguished by its plain orange throat with no dark markings.
