Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi) - 10 July 2013. Ndutu, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha Region, Tanzania.

Rather than discouraging the Giraffes, the Acacia thorns seem to add zest to the flavor of the tree leaves. Yummy! The jagged edges to the patches are characteristic of this race which is confined to the Masai region. Like all mammals, the Giraffe has only seven neck bones.
