Marabou Stork (Leptoptilos crumenifer) - 12 July 2013. Serengeti National Park, Shinyanga Region, Tanzania.

These huge, ungainly storks have massive bills and unique distensible air sacs on their throat and back which are visible only when inflated. They are also said to have specialized fluffy undertail coverts known as "Marabou down." The spelling of the scientific name of Marabou Stork is changed from Leptoptilos crumeniferus to Leptoptilos crumenifer, following David and Gosselin (2011).
