Silverbird (Empidornis semipartitus) - 4 July 2013. Tarangire National Park, Manyara Region, Tanzania.

These attractive birds remind me of the North American bluebirds (Sialia sp.). Both have a similar plumage pattern and both like to sit in the open and take food off the ground. Sexes are alike. They have a limited range, centered on the Rift Valley. Tanzania is at the southern limit of their distribution. This distinctive species is the only member of the Empidornis genus. It was formerly included with the Slaty-Flycatchers in the genus Melaenornis.
