Wattled Starling (Creatophora cinerea) - 3 July 2013. Tarangire National Park, Manyara Region, Tanzania.

These birds were locally common and usually seen in flocks. In the breeding season, males become bald with bright yellow skin on their crown and long black wattles at their gape, but we never saw this distinctive plumage. All the birds we saw appeared to be in non-breeding plumage. We often saw them foraging while riding on the backs of large mammals. This unique species is the only member of the genus Creatophora.
