Oriental White-eye (Zosterops palpebrosus williamsoni) - 7 January 2013 Mahachi Mangrove Forest Research Center, Samut Sakhon Province, Thailand Photos © 2013 Joseph Morlan

These are active little birds. We didn't see them often, but when we did they were usually foraging in small flocks. The bottom bird has feathers wet from bathing

Birds breeding along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand are assigned the race Z. p. williamsoni according to HBW and Robson. This race has more yellow on the forehead and a narrow yellow belly stripe as seen here. Populations in northern Thailand (race siamensis of HBW but apparently synonymized with nominate by Clements) has a yellow morph in which the entire underparts are yellow.
