Striated Starling (Aplonis striata)
Top bird is a male. The bottom bird is a female which is paler and grayer, lacking the iridescent gloss on the head of the male. This species is endemic to New Caledonia. Two subspecies are recognized of which this is the nominate characterized by its shorter tail, less shiny head in the male and paler female. Canon PowerShot SX60.
