I think your habitat point is well taken. That along with everything but the apparent breast streaks adds up to MacGillivray's.
I see the bill on the Wren/Gnatcatcher/Vireo as all black, rather straight and thin, without the hook on the tip of a vireo. Although I have very littly experience with CAGN or BEVI, I still vote for CAGN.
