My first impression when looking at this bird was Hutton's Vireo. However, the many posts supporting Bewick's Wren had swayed me, and I really did think that's what it was (although the bill continued to worry me, I let it stand as short-looking b/c the bird was young). Since it seems like none of the guesses were correct, I'm putting forth the idea of Hutton's Vireo now. The bill feels vireo-ish, the colors don't seem too out-of-range for a worn bird, and the eyering broken at the top seems to fit. I'm not sure how else to support Hutton's...it just felt like one to me. :-)
