October: I hereby proclaim that this is to be a Golden Eagle. Seriously, I have no idea what it is. I switched to House Wren for a while but it just doesn't make sense. I don't think it is a Hutton's Vireo, if it is why would it appear that this bird has a broad, though faint, eyebrow going behind the eye? The bird looks overall frosty colored, not olive-colored like all the Hutton's I've seen, including the "Mexican" races. Also the bird doesn't show the distinct spectacled look I always associate Hutton's with. Oh well...

November's bird looks like a juv. Pectoral to me. Primary projection would seem to rule out any possible peeps, the bib (although faint and fine on this individual) would seem to rule out Sharp-tailed. It doesn't have the really bright rufous cap like a STSA should. The broad scap lines are intriguing. They're more distinct than any juv. PESA I've seen, but I say it would be within the range of one. So I see no reason not to stick with my first impression, a very fresh, very bright juv. Pectoral.
