The left bird looks like an American to me, owing to what seems like a heavy bill, prominent eye, and suggestion of a paler buffy area about the eye I often see on Americans in or approaching basic. Were we able to see any of the wingbars at all, that would help, as American Goldfinches have buffish wingbars that are bold and which are spaced more broadly than the less eye-catching white bars of Lesser. I'm totally ready to be wrong; this is just one image. The bird on the right would appear to be um, er, uh, a Larry's based on the gray breast with confined yellow in the upper mid-breast. Hey, how about those Snakes?
