Upset! No way. I feel that Joe's comments on the two upper ducks are very enlightening. My main reason for calling the upper male a Greater was the relative size of the bill. Joe's comments about smaller head feathers and slicked down crown on breeding Scaup would tend to make the bill appear larger. The black on the tip of the bill also is not nearly as extensive on the upper bords as it is on the winter female. Since I'm wrong at least as often as I'm right on Joe's quizes, I think I actually learn more when I'm wrong. But I still can't buy Phainopepla!!!
