: I have a male Pin Tailed Whyday in full plumage feeding in my yard everyday. I also have what seems to be females or juvenile males also. Any have info
: or web sites to go to for photos or descriptions of the females or young males?

I, too, have had a male pin-tailed whydah at my bird feeder (last sited 8/18). Where are you located? I'm in Burnsville, MN. Look at www.honoluluzoo.org/pintailed_whydah.htm for more information. They are a type of finch endemic to east Africa. Sure it's someone's pet that got loose. I originally thought it might be an escapee from our zoo, but the zoo does not claim it.

Please let me know your location. I'm interested in knowing if you're close by.
