Greetings All

The sparrow is a juvenile Chipping. Young Timberline, CC, Brewer's is eliminated by the blackish eyeline that goes through the lores. Young Zonotrichia should not have the fine dark crown streaking.

The vireo is most interesting. I admit that the face pattern looks very much Philly, but I have on one occasion seen a Warbling Vireo in Chicago with quite dark lores. Given the angle of the photo, I do not feel comfortable using bill or body shape as an ID aid. The glare of the underparts makes assessment of underpart color very challenging. However, I feel a bit uncomfortable with the appearance of a white chest and yellowish flanks. If this photo was submitted to the Washington Bird Records Committee without further documentation, I would probably vote "no".
