This park has an enclosed butterfly garden where various species of milkweed have been planted to benefit the breeding Monarch Butterflies. I believe the milkweed contains a toxin which makes the cats and butterflies unpalatable to most would-be predators. We saw numerous Monarch caterpillars. It's hard to tell the front from the back on them but I'm pretty sure this is the front. Notice the small Monarch cat nearby.
