Olive-sided Flycatcher (Contopus cooperi) 7 May 2005. Briones Regional Park, CC, CA Photo © 2005 Joseph Morlan

This is a somewhat uncommon migrant and breeder, now declining in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today I took my Ornithology class to Briones Regional Park where we saw two of these birds. I've been leading classes here for many years and this is the first time we have recorded this species here.

This photo was taken by Robbie Fischer. It shows me and my class looking at the Olive-sided Flycatcher in the previous photo. It also offers a sense of the habitat. The scope is the Nikon FS used for the digiscoping.
