Summer Tanager, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, December 11, 1997. This individual has rather solid brownish wings but the yellow-orange color to the rump and tail eliminate the possibility of Scarlet Tanager. This bird has been wintering in the Sharon Meadows area.
