Music Appreciation, Concert Review Outline for
Music 27A Concert
Review Two live performances or one live performance and
one video review of Immortal Beloved,
Amadeus or Impromptu. You need
to do two concert reviews, one before the midterm and one before the final.
An opera, ballet, a solo recital, a chamber music recital, symphony
orchestra, choir concert, jazz group or soloist will qualify for a live music
review. Besides the questions asked, please add any other points that come to
you for a page and a half report. Write your review as soon as possible after
the performance or video. Please spell words correctly, type or write legibly
in ink. Attach concert program and ticket stub to the back of your report. If
you are reviewing a film attach the date, time and the rental receipt to your
paper. When reviewing a film you must discuss the scene(s) in which music is
either performed, talked about, or played in the background. Make specific
musical points or opinions in how the music affects that scene or scenes. Concert
