Geonet--A Quiz Game
  • Click on the link and a new window will pop up with a map of the United States. You can click on the button at the bottom of your screen to come back to these directions if you need to.
  • First click on a flag to choose which part of the country you want to answer questions about.
  • Then choose easy or hard, and choose a category. You can read about each of the six categories when you move your mouse over the picture. Click when you decide which one to choose.
  • Next you will see a question. You can also click on Reference Maps at the top to see some maps which might help you. You have to click a link. If you do that, you have to click close when you are finished.
  • Choose which answer you want, go down to the bottom of the screen and click Am I right?.
  • You may have to try more than once, but after you get the right answer, you will also see a little more information.
  • If you want to change the subject, you can click Search Category at the bottom of the screen.
  • If you want to stop, you can choose End Game at the top.

This reading website has different exercises. Choose a subject in the drop down menu (choices are Vocabulary in Context, Reading for Understanding, and Reading Strategy). Then choose Intermediate in the Select a Skill Level. Click Start Lesson.

You can go to English-Zone.Com and click on the different links to find some interesting activities or information. Some of the activities are only available to paid members, but there are a lot of activities that are free.
