CHOOSING
YOUR BOOK
1. Choose a book on a
subject you like. Ask me if you
donÕt know the subject.
2. Read the front and back
covers completely. Make sure the
print inside the book is a comfortable size for you.
3. Read the first page and
one page in the middle of the book.
a. Count the new vocabulary words you find
on these two pages. You should find about
5-7 new words, but no more. See me
if the books are too hard.
b. Check the verb tenses and the
grammar. Do you get the ÔgistÕ of
each paragraph, or are
you confused and lost? You should
not be lost by the
grammar. See me if the books seem too hard.
4. DonÕt be afraid of a
long book. Sometimes short books
are hard and long books are easy.
