Course Description: There are several
objectives for this
course. In the area of writing, you
will write and revise paragraphs, letters, and compositions. In the area of grammar, you will improve
your ability to accurately recognize and use grammatical structures
taught in
ESL 110, and you will learn new grammatical structures. In the area of
reading
and vocabulary, you will be able to read, understand, and respond to a
variety
of reading materials. You will
learn to use vocabulary from reading assignments in your writing
assignments. You will be expected
to do writing, reading, vocabulary, and grammar assignments every week.
As a
rule, you should plan to spend at least ten hours a week on homework
and
studying. Although I will not collect or grade all assignments, you
will have
quizzes and tests which include material from these assignments. Some of these quizzes will be
"surprise" quizzes.
