Hero Project


    1. Preview, present and reinforce vocuabluary used to describe people we admire
    2. Discuss qualities, behaviors and examples of heroes and heroism.
    3. Discuss heroes in face of difficulties and adversity. What choices might they make? What kinds of adversity?
    4. Introduce topic of racial dismrimination. Ask if class knows of heroes who have faced this adversity?
    5. Read about Rosa Parks. Follow-up.
    6. Students write and publish about personal heroes. Can be web page or class book.
    7. Teams write and publish a "position" paper on heroism, discrimination, or related topic.
