Welcome to some exercises that will help you learn to explain your work skills. (We call these skills SCANS comptencies.) Employers in the United States need to know about your skills and experience. You can help them by explaining what you know with clear examples.This will help you at a job you have now, or in an interview for another job, or in work you do in your community. These are skills you already use in every day life.

These exerices will help you in four parts:
 

1. You will practice some vocabulary and short conversation with a group of students.
2. You will have a question dictation about the same topic.
3. You will discuss your answers with one or two classmates.
4. You will write a learning log about this topic. You may email this to your teacher, or write it and hand it in.

• Talk about how you can use resources, like time, money, and material.
• Talk about how you can  work with other to complete projects.
• Talk about how you can learn, evalutae and organize information.
• Talk about how you can understand and work with social, organizational and technical systems.
• Talk about how you can choose, use and repair technology.
