Civic Center/Alemany Student Survey Fall 2009

 

Part One: Get the survey ready:

    1. Download the survey from our webpage. Save a copy to your flash drive or your folder.

    2. Change the font and size so it is easy to read.

    3. Put a border around the survey. Look at old papers to remember how to do this. (M&M lesson)

    4. Change the fill color if you want to!

    5. Work with our class to write four more questions. We need to agree on four more questions.

    6. Check spelling.

    7. Add some clip art.

    8. Save your survey.

    9. Print.

    10. Make copies downstairs. We need 100-125 copies.

Part Two: Give the survey:

    1. Choose 2 or 3 speaking teams. There should be 3 or 4 students on each team. The teams need to practice explaining the survey in English to other students. .

    2. These teams will go to Levels 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 this week to explain and give the survey.

    3. These teams will answer questions in class, and wait for students to answer the survey.

    4. Bring back the answers to class.

Part Three: Finish the survey:

    1. Count all the answers carefully.

    2. Put the numbers in one spreadsheet.

    3. Get the percent for each question.

    4. Make one pie chart and for each answer. The question will be the title. (We can do this in teams.)

    5. Make the pie chart very big, one page for every pie chart.

    6. Save and print one pie chart in color for every question. (downstairs in teachers' room.)

    7. Put all ten pie charts and a copy of the survey on a school bulletin board.

    8. Take and print a group photo.

    9. Write a story about the survey. Check spelling and grammar. Choose a large font.

    10. Save and print in color for our bulletin board.

    11. Print large signs for the bulletin board.

    12. Make smaller signs about the bulletin board to put up in school.
