Gin and Kin Team Dictation





Directions for students.

1) Read your five statements carefully. Do you understand them? When you are ready, dictate your statements to your two team members.

2) Listen to your team members and write the other ten statements. When you finish you will have fifteen statements.

3) After the dictation, log on to BBC and read the story. Decide if these statements are true or false. Then we'll talk about these incredible women!


Team Dictation:
1.  One of Japan's oldest twins just died.
2.  The twins' names were Gin and Kin.
3.  Gin was 108 years old.
4.  She died peacefully in a hospital.
5.  Her twin sister died two years ago.
 
 

6.   Gin and Kin were born in Nagoya, east of Tokyo.
7.   Their names mean peace and love in English.
8.   They became famous when they turned 80 years old.
9.   When they traveled to Taiwan, they met other twins.
10.  In fact, they met 2000 twins in Taiwan.
 
 

11.  Gin and Kin were 90 when they traveled to Japan.
12.  In Japan, there is a holiday called "Twin Day."
13.  The twin sisters lived a simple, healthy life.
14.  They swam frequently for exercise.
15.  Gin Kanie had nine children, four grandchildren and five   great-grandchildren.
