Urban Health Policy : HLTH 231

About the course:  

This course explores the main detriments of health and health disparities in diverse and low-income communities in the United States. Students will become familiar with current policy issues in urban community health and the process for influencing policy. Students will also develop skills to serve as an effective advocate for community health.

This course is offered by the Department of Health Education and Community Health Studies at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) in collaboration with the San Francisco State University Department of Health Education and the CCSF Psychology Department.

Course Satisfactions:

HLTH 231 (3 units) satisfies:

  • Transfers to UC and CSU (IGETC 4G)
  • Electives in Health Education and Community Health Studies major
  • Electives for Community Health Worker Certificate
