BIOGRAPHY

Ms. Levy at Niagara Falls

Ms. Levy has been teaching ESL since 1985, at City College since 1995.  Prior to 1995, she taught in Israel, and at Queens College in New York City.  She has taught all levels and skills at CCSF:  Academic reading and writing courses, listening/speaking, pronunciation & accent reduction, and grammar/editing.  Her courses are rigorous: homework and class assignments are designed to push students to take control of their own learning.  Her (my!) goal:  to make learning to use the English language, and learning or improving one's critical thinking skills, an exciting journey for students.

M.A. in TESOL:  New York University, 1985

B.A. in Philosophy: U.C. Berkeley

Languages spoken: Hebrew (fluently), French (not-so-fluently!)
